Our old dog Hannah passed away last week

The reason we are not out on the trapline is because of old Hannah.  She had been our partner for over 16 years and deserved to have her last remaining days peaceful and easy.  The decision had been an easy one ....  it would give us a chance to build our house.  We are doing all the work ourselves and the money is still flying out of our bank account.  We do not have internet and have to go to the small community trailer College to use their free 3 available computers.  Sometimes it is days to get a freed up one.  So please don't expect that we will post often.
The mountain lake that we fly into is probably iced over now but not safe to land on til just before Christmas.... if then.  We will see how the winter goes.  Right now the weather has gotten mild.  Only -3 and snowing.  If we do not go out to our trapline we might make arrangements to be an assistant trapper on a line not worked near our small community.  We will see what happens.  I haven't fiqured out how to get photos onto this blog when using the community's computors.
We had a wonderful time at the BC Trapping Convention.  Met lots of wonderful people and enjoyed all the demonstrations.  It was well worth the effort to attend.
Ishi is three now and in heat...   Bee, our Japanese Bobtail is well and fine and has taken up chasing the neighbors dogs out of our yard.  Hate to think of what she will do when we go back out to the trapline and the wolves are there instead of just dogs.
Hope this finds all you well and happy.  Sorry for the long time in getting back on here.

Hannah, Cheese Biscuits, Changine Oil and Fried Potatoes

Hannah is still happy.
Thank you all for the chicken information.  Great advise.  First I will check for lice and frost bite, then increase daylight as much as I can.  Also I will add more protein.  Bryan put a new Fuel Line Assembly on "Miss Piggy" and also is taking a spare battery plus jumper cables with him.  He is off to check the other line.  Wolves were out on the landing strip checking out all the tree markers.  2 big Bull Moose came off the Mountain behind us and are heading to lower elevations.  Bryan said all the Moose have left Walkers Valley now.
CHEESE BISCUITS
2 Cups Flour
4 tsp. Baking powder
shake of salt.
3/4 cup butter/margarine
1/3 to 2 cups grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella
1/2 cup dried chives
1 cup water
Mix all ingredients together than add water.
Drop by large tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake at 450 F for 10 to 15 minutes.
Boston Baked Beans
The Generator Oil gets changed every month.  The used oil is used as BAR OIL FOR THE CHAINSAWIt is changed in the cabin because it is warm and runs out easier.

The 2 x 4 is used to elevate the generator.  Bryan takes it outside to fill it up.

FRIED DICED POTATOES
Dix thinly.
Fry in 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil for 15 min.  Stirring lots.

FULL MOON over the Lake

It was so spectacular Vikki got out of bed and put her cloths back on and went outside.

The Moon rise and the Sun rise are in the same spot... We don't see the sun though until about 11 am.
Hannah is happier out side during the day and a wool sweater keeps her happy.  -9 C.
