The wind came up this afternoon and the clankering of ice pieces is really loud.
We work a remote trap line in the far north west corner of BC Canada. For long periods of the year it is just the two of us, 2 dogs, a cat and two chickens. This is how we live. WE TAKE ORDERS FOR FURS DONE FOR TAXIDERMY AND RUGS....

Freeze up is coming fast this year
Freeze-up is about 10 days earlier than normal. Even listening to other trappers on the SBX at night we can hear they are experiencing it early also. "BeaverCrow" said it's the earliest he can remember. "Jack Pine" said he was out in his canoe and the Swans were on the lake and the next morning it was frozen solid. We all miss not hearing Don Taylor on the SBX. He died last month of lung cancer at 80.

Sorry to hear about Don. With this early freeze up, hopefully it brings some ultra-prime furs with it!
ReplyDeleteIt has been so cold in Faro too! Lows around -25C every night for the last 10 days. Brrrr!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about Don. I wonder if someone else may step into the valuable service he provided for so many years?
ReplyDeleteIts been down to -17 in Prince George and we have over a foot of snow on the ground.
Can't get over how hard Bryan can work day in and day out! Hope you're going to be okay Vikki. I had appendicitis attacks for years. They finally subsided.
