Even though it is only 24 km away and 200 meters lower in elevation, this year it is different than past years. That warm Chinook ate up the snow. It used to be piled the four feet to the cabin floor.... now that is all gone. The dead grass is showing through.
Bryan found a hole the size of a pencil that the mice are getting into the cabin thru. See the cabinet that has no shelf liner on it. Well that is the point of entry for them. So he cut up old Coleman fuel cans and flattened them out and the mice are stuck on that shelf where the mouse trap is. He's caught 4 in 3 days. Once he figures he's caught the ones that know that hole he will put a strip on wood over the thin route. He has also found the opening that let them in the ceiling. He'll seal that up next trip after he doesn't hear them up there anymore.
His slices of Pizza are reheated on a cleaned up tin can. Works great as a warmer.

So with the warmer weather how does that effect trapping? Less animals being trapped? Love your post. Thanks Mitch
