Boston Baked Beans, Lighters and a Fisher

BOSTON BAKED BEANS
2 cups white navy Beans... soak 12 hours.
Drain.... add new water and bring to a boil.  Turn down heat and shimmer for 2 to 3 hrs.
In heavy cast iron pot....add beans
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp Brown sugar
1/4 cup Molasses
1 tsp dry Mustard
2 tsp Tomato Paste.
Then extra Pork Sausages and a little extra cooked Bacon.   Keep moist when cooking on the woodstove for 3 or 4 hours.

Each of us carries 3 or so rabbit snares in a small container on the Skidoo and quad.  You never know when you are going to run out of food.
Each year we buy 4 packages of Bic Lighters  or 20.  We pry off the child safety clip.  If you are really cold or weak you have to be able to keep lighting this until you have a fire going.
We have these in the lunch box, the first aid kit, in every carrying place on the quad and skidoo.  You would be suprised at how many no smokers never have a lighter with them.

Matches now adays are pretty patheticIn the sealed glass jar are old strick anywhere matches.  In the other match boxes are what we are stuck with now adays... to save people from their own stupidity.  The box usually runs out of sticking surface before the matches are used up.

Bryan came back from checking the line and he had a large male Fisher and a Marten.  Ishi doesn't mind Marten but a Fisher is 5 times the size and Ishi is barking and her hair is standing up.
